Cat owners in the German town of Walldorf will be allowed to let their pets out for the first time in three months when the authorities lift a special lockdown on outdoor cats. In May, residents of the town were ordered to keep their cats indoors to protect an endangered bird called the Crested Lark. nd the Germans were serious about this lockdown. Any breach would result in a fine of up to €50,000 (£42,000). Cats were kept indoors while baby lark chicks hatched. And now the larks are large enough and much less vulnerable.
